Grant Terms
Effective date: October 25, 2026
The Life Evolution 360 Grant helps writers from underserved communities complete and publish a book when cost would otherwise stand in the way. These terms apply to every grant application and award.
1. What a grant is. A grant pays for some or all of the fees of a Life Evolution 360 service, at the level ("tier") shown in your award letter. It is not a cash payment to you. Tier names and the share of fees covered are set by us and may change between grant cycles; each award letter states the tier and what it covers.
2. Who may apply. Anyone 18 or older who has a book idea or manuscript and a need for support. Applicants under 18 need a parent or guardian to apply. We welcome applicants from Africa and around the world.
3. How we decide. Applications are open during published windows and reviewed by directors using a scoring guide that looks at the story, the readiness to write and finish, the need for support, and the potential benefit to the author's community. Decisions are made at our discretion, depend on the funds available in each cycle, and are final for that cycle. You may apply again in a later cycle. Possible outcomes are Awarded, Waitlisted and Not awarded.
4. What you promise. Everything you tell us in the application is true and complete; you will sign the Author Agreement before work starts; you will take part in sessions, meet agreed deadlines and keep in touch with your coach; and you will tell us if your plans change. We may reduce, pause or end an award if information was false or misleading, or if you stop taking part for a reasonable period after we have tried to contact you.
5. Royalties and recoupment. Where we pay fees for you, your Author Agreement states how royalties are shared and how those fees are recovered from royalties, including any commission rate and any recoupment balance. Those terms are shown in your author account and in each royalty statement.
6. Grant funds. Grants are paid from the Life Evolution 360 grant fund, supported by donations and program income and allocated under our published fund policy. A grant is not a promise of any future grant.
7. Publicity. With your separate consent, we may share your story, name and photo to inspire others and to raise funds for future grants. Consent is optional and does not affect your application or award.
8. Privacy. We keep application details confidential, share them only with reviewers and staff who need them, and handle them as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. No refunds or transfers. A grant cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another person, or applied to a different service without our written approval.
10. Changes. We may update these terms for future cycles. The terms in your award letter apply to your award.
