What if the life everyone expects you to live is keeping you from the life you were created to pursue? In Unclipping My Wings: From Pressure to Purpose, From Self-Betrayal to Self-Appointment, Happiness Paskali Bayyo shares an honest and deeply personal journey of faith, identity, courage, and becoming. After completing a university degree she never truly chose, Happiness finds herself standing between family expectations, financial uncertainty, an unfulfilled spiritual calling, and a persistent conviction that she was made for more. Without a clear path forward, she must confront the invisible forces that have shaped her decisions: fear of judgment, the need for approval, financial pressure, self-doubt, and the habit of abandoning her own dreams to satisfy others. Through mentorship, faith, painful setbacks, and courageous self-discovery, Happiness begins removing the “clips” that have kept her wings bound. From navigating unemployment and workplace challenges to surviving a devastating financial loss, building a purpose-driven platform, and learning to begin before she feels ready, her story reveals that transformation does not require having everything figured out—it begins with the decision to stop betraying yourself. Inside this inspiring memoir and personal-growth guide, you will discover how to: Separate your qualifications from your true calling Stop organizing your life around other people’s expectations Pursue purpose while building financial stability Manage your time as intentionally as your money Begin with the resources already in your hands Hold firmly to your faith and values in the workplace Turn rejection, loss, and uncertainty into resilience Release the need for permission and external validation Become for others the encouragement you once needed Unclipping My Wings is not the story of someone who has already arrived. It is the story of a young woman still becoming—learning to trust God, take responsibility for her gifts, use her voice, and build a meaningful life one courageous decision at a time. For anyone who has ever felt trapped in a life designed by others, afraid to pursue a larger vision, or uncertain about where to begin, this book offers a powerful reminder: Your wings may already be there. The journey begins when you find the courage to unclip them.

Excerpt

From Chapter Twelve: “Becoming the Thing I Was Looking For” When I started, I thought unclipping meant escaping: getting out from under my family’s expectations, out of the wrong degree, out of poverty, out of a life someone else designed for me. I understand it differently now. Unclipping isn’t mainly about escaping what held me down. It’s about steadily removing the things I let clip me: the fear of judgment, the waiting for permission, the belief that I had to choose between God and stability, the habit of betraying myself to keep the peace, the dependence on other people’s approval to know my own worth. Those were the clips. And I’m still, this very week, working some of them loose. The wings were always mine. They were always capable of flight. This passage captures the book’s central metaphor and personal honesty while inviting readers to recognize their own “clips.”
